CohortStudio

About

Built by people who've run the classes.

CohortStudio exists because running an independent certification training practice should not require a full-time operations person. The tools you were given were built for someone else. We're building the one you were supposed to have.

The story

Why we're doing this.

We spent years watching independent trainers (CSTs, PSTs, ICAgile Authorized Instructors, SAFe SPCs) stitch together Eventbrite, a spreadsheet, a CRM, a calendar, and a PDF generator to run a training business that is otherwise in excellent shape. The tools weren't the problem. The fact that there were five of them was.

Then we watched the bill. Eventbrite's fee on a $1,000 seat is roughly $68.69. Multiply by twenty learners and you've just handed Eventbrite $1,374 for taking a credit card. Arlo is the closest thing to a real platform, but it was built for corporate L&D departments and priced accordingly.

Nobody built the thing. So we are.

CohortStudio is flat-priced, certification-aware, and shipped by people who have sat at the back of a training room and fixed a rostering mistake on their phone during a retrospective. If that's a Saturday you've had, this is for you.

What we believe

Four principles that won't change.

Flat pricing, always

Per-seat fees are a tax on the trainer. We'll never charge one. The monthly price is the price.

Certifications are first-class

Scrum Alliance, Scrum.org, ICAgile, PMI, SAFe. The software should understand them without a spreadsheet.

Build for the working trainer

Not the enterprise L&D department. Not the concert promoter. The person actually teaching the class this Saturday.

Ship quickly, apologize quickly

We'd rather ship 80% and fix the last 20% in public than make you wait a year for a committee-approved feature.

Say hi.

If you're a trainer, we want to hear what's broken about your current setup. If you're a certifying body, we want to make sure our connector does right by you. Either way:
